Narrow is a five button base building strategy game. The player starts the game with a small number of white cubes he must defend by building defensive towers on top of the already existing geometry. Over time, the amount of enemies invading the players base increases. Starting point of my design process was the political subject of protectionsim. From there I started studying base defense games and tried to broach the political topic while still making a fun to play game. Visually, I was inspirred by constructivism. An artstyle which both thematically and visually matched Narrow well while allowing me to focus on the technical realisation of the game and the principles of Unity.
